The asynchronous motor for the new mainline diesel locomotive STM has passed the acceptance commission

A meeting of the acceptance commission was held in Lysva (Perm Krai), which reviewed the results of experimental design work on the development of the TAD430 asynchronous traction engine designed for the 2TE35A mainline diesel locomotive. The engine was created according to the technical specifications of the Traction Components company at the Privod LLC.

The tests carried out on the basis of the interstate standard GOST 15902-2014 confirmed the compliance of the asynchronous motor with the requirements of the technical specification. The acceptance commission chaired by the General Director of the Traction Components company Alexander Saltaev, which included specialists from the Sinara – Transport Machines holding, the non-profit partnership Association of Manufacturers of Railway Equipment (OPZHT), the Privod LLC plant, specialized departments of Russian Railways, research institutes (VNIIZHT, VNIKTI) confirmed that the tests conducted fully and reliably. The letter O1 was assigned to the design and technological documentation, which allows the company Privod LLC to start production of engines. The volume of the installation series will be 160 units.

During the tests carried out both at the manufacturer's site and at research institutes, prototypes of the engine were exposed to vibration, high and low temperatures, high humidity, increased voltage and rotational speed, mechanical stress. The equipment has confirmed a significant margin of safety and resource, as well as high efficiency — the efficiency of the engine is 96%. With a weight of 2350 kg, the dimensions of the device allow it to be installed on four-axle diesel trucks with a wheel diameter of 1050 mm.

"The development, manufacture and testing of the TAD-430 took us two years," said Alexander Saltaev, General Director of Traction Components. — As a result, we received a domestic engine of reliable design, easy to maintain, with good characteristics."

The President of OPZHT Valentin Gapanovich, noting the role of the enterprise in the creation of new models of equipment, stressed: "The components of the traction rolling stock affect the reliability indicators of the entire locomotive, in this regard, it is necessary to assign to the created engine indicators of maintainability and preservation."

The TAD-430 asynchronous traction motors are designed for a modern 2TE35A diesel locomotive developed by the STM Research Center. The two-section 16-axle mainline diesel locomotive 2TE35A is designed to transport trains weighing 7,100 tons in the conditions of the Eastern Landfill. STM manufacturing and engineering enterprises, as well as a wide pool of domestic suppliers of specialized equipment, take part in the creation of the machine. Earlier, a generator was manufactured and certified for a diesel locomotive at the Privod LLC enterprise.

Andrey Kuznetsov, General Director of Privod LLC, called the development of new products an important stage in the development of the enterprise: "Our company developed and manufactured prototypes of traction electric motors in the shortest possible time that meet the strict requirements of the terms of reference. It was not an easy task, but it was extremely interesting for our team. We are interested in mutually beneficial cooperation with the Sinara Group in the manufacture of railway equipment," he said.
