A new hydrogenerator with a capacity of 75 MW was put into operation at the Verkhne-Tulomskaya HPP.

On July 1, 2021, the solemn launch of the hydroelectric unit No. 1 of the Verkhne-Tulomskaya HPP, which is part of the Cascade of the Tulomsky and Serebryansky HPPs of PJSC TGK-1, took place. The unit includes a hydrogenerator with a capacity of 75 MW produced by Privod LLC. This event has successfully completed the first stage of modernization of the most powerful hydroelectric power plant in the North-West of our country, which provides for a comprehensive replacement of the equipment of hydroelectric units No. 1 and No. 4. A year earlier, in April, the updated unit No. 4 was put into operation.

The SV 660/165-32 UHL4 hydrogenerator operates in conjunction with a hydraulic vertical turbine of the Kaplan rotary-blade type with a rotation speed of 187.5 rpm, in an underground machine hall, at a depth of 50 meters, and has a total height of about 8 meters, and a total weight of 500 tons. The equipment is designed and manufactured taking into account the existing construction part left over from the old equipment, as well as the overall limitations of the underground hydroelectric power station. Due to the use of modern technical solutions and materials, the unit capacity of the new hydrogenerator increased from 57 to 75 MW, while the efficiency was 98.45 %. The design of hydro generators ensures reliability, ergonomics and high technical and economic indicators throughout the entire service life.

As part of the implementation of the second stage of modernization of the Verkhne-Tulomskaya HPP, currently Privod LLC is starting to ship hydrogenerator equipment to replace the hydroelectric unit No. 3.
